Infection Control Measures at Meramec Family Dentistry
Before conducting all of our dental treatments, we employ all available state-of-the-art safety and disinfectant practices. The processes we employ include each of the following:
- Disinfectant hand soap at all handwashing stations
- Gloves and face masks and appropriate personal protective equipment for all staff members
- Chemical disinfection of all countertops and surfaces
- Sterilization of all equipment before every use by the dental team
- Disposable materials that require no specific educational process for sterilization or cleaning
To reduce the spread of infection and transmission of microbes, we sterilize all of our reusable equipment. This includes all of our dental handpieces. To achieve appropriate sterilization, we use an autoclave. This high-powered device kills bacteria and viruses by using steam, heat, and pressure to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases.
We believe that the best possible defense against disease is information. The more you learn about infection controls, the better equipped you will be to make the right decisions regarding your dental health care and overall wellness. To put our patients at ease, we have a policy of transparency regarding our daily procedures and all policies.
If you have any questions about any of our infection control procedures, contact our office! We are here to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have regarding infection control and sanitation practices.
