DENTAL BONDING IN ARNOLD, MO
Dental bonding may be cosmetic or restorative. For cosmetic purposes, it is an alternative to veneers. Bonding helps restore and improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or disarranged.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
During a simple office procedure, the surface of the tooth is etched and a bonding liquid is applied. Once the liquid sets, a malleable resin is applied. Dr. Mandefro sculpts the material into the desired shape. Once hardened, the bonding resin is trimmed, smoothed, and polished to create a natural appearance.
The cosmetic bonding procedure can often be started and finished in one office visit. This treatment can significantly improve a tooth’s appearance.
However, the resin is not as strong or durable as natural tooth enamel. It may stain, chip, or break more easily. Bonding generally lasts three to five years before needing repair.
